Kenya confirms four additional Ebola infections
Kenya’s health ministry confirmed four additional Ebola cases on 17 October, taking the country’s total to seven, according to Reuters.
The newly diagnosed patients include three health workers who treated the first patient and one of that patient’s relatives. All four were already in quarantine when they developed symptoms.
The ministry said 128 of 130 identified contacts had been traced and quarantined, with efforts continuing to locate the remaining two.
Officials reported no evidence of community transmission at the time of the update.
